Error Blog – Auto Number Generation in Power Automate when you use D365 FO Connector

When you use D365 FinOps Connector, and you are trying to create a record for standard entities
on D365 FinOps you get an error message stating: Number does not match format or sometimes
you may get error stating: number not allowed for editing. As the problem is with Invalid
Connection Reference.

So, to solve this issue we are going to connect to new connection reference.

Detailed resolution steps

Step 1: Add a Finance and Operations Connector into your power automate flow as shown below and select any standard entity:

Step 2: Click on the 3 dots of “Create Record” Action and change the connection by clicking on add new connection as shown below:

Step 3: Click on sign in to create a new connection and re-sign in:

Output

Now you will not be getting the error of Auto number sequence when the flow runs and an auto number will be generated from D365 Finance and Operations.
